About Us

Prairie Geomatics Ltd is an on-line GPS and accessories business which was founded in 1995 by Art Dalton. Initially the focus was on the emerging field of "precision farming" but we soon came to realize that we were rather ahead of our time and what most of our customers really wanted was one of those really cool handheld GPS units... so this has been our focus for the last 10 years. Our customers tend to be "outdoor professionals" (forestry technicians, environmental consultants, natural resources officers, etc) as well as individuals, government departments and enforcement agencies. Repeat customers are a large part of our business, which tells us we must be doing something right! We're not perfect, but if we mess up in some way, we'll put things right. You are not emailing or talking to a call center - if we say we have something in stock it's because we walked over to the shelf and we have it in our hand!

• Your credit card is not automatically charged when you place an order - this takes place only after your order is reviewed by one of our staff

Return Policy

- Customer Returns

• All of our products are covered by a one year manufacturers warranty, so if there is anything wrong with anything you buy from us, you are covered. We will accept product returns within 14 days provided that the item is in new condition and includes all packaging material. Returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee. You must call to get permission to return or exchange an item. We actually get very few returns, because we are careful about what we sell and make every effort to ensure that the customer has correct information about the product prior to making the purchase. - Software Returns

• We are not able to accept returns on opened software. If you open the package you agree to the license conditions which always stipulate that there are no returns allowed. The only exceptions are in cases where there is a problem with damaged or unreadable media (unreadable CD-ROM, for example). Unlock Certificates that have been opened cannot be returned.

- Defective Returns

• Any items that have been deemed defective may be returned within 30 days for the same item only. You are responsible for shipping costs to us, but we will cover the shipping costs back.

- Privacy Information

• The information you submit to us remains confidential. By clicking submit you are confirming that we may use your personal information for order processing purposes. We will not share your address or email information with anyone else, except of course the shipper.

- Shipping Information

• For orders with *FREE Shipping*: only applicable to Canadian addresses and not available in some very remote areas.
• Normal orders with shipping fees are $10 within Manitoba and Saskatchewan, $12 for NW Ontario and $16 for the rest of Canada. We reserve the right to adjust the shipping costs of any order. We normally use Canada Post Xpresspost. Shipping normally takes 1-3 days depending on location. We are not responsible for delayed mail. Canada Post will attempt parcel delivery, but if no one is home, they will leave a card advising which local postal outlet you can pick up the item. We will email an order confirmation and Canada Post tracking number (if you have given us your email on the online form). By special request, we can also ship Purolator Courier or Bus, but you will have to phone us to make these arrangements (1-888-444-0302).
